Every year we get to enjoy updates and new features that improve the Subaru lineup, but it’s pretty rare for us to have the chance to offer our customers something so new and exciting for you to enjoy. The Solterra is something we’re incredibly excited about as it showcases Subaru’s new all-electric architecture for their vehicles: the e-Subaru Global Platform. This is what we’re going to see a lot of models utilize in the years ahead, so the Solterra is not only an amazing piece of machinery in its own right, but it’s giving us a glimpse into the future for Subaru and the auto industry. All-Electric Performance

Beyond the fact that the Solterra is an all-new compact crossover model with amazing features, what’s going to get the most attention with this great new ride is that it’s Subaru’s first Electric Vehicle (EV). Beyond its impressive range and overall power, the Solterra is simply fun to drive, thanks in part to innovations like Subaru StarDrive with Sport and one-pedal driving. This gives you substantial on-demand torque to make for an exhilarating driving experience, with a particularly responsive Sport mode. Plus, you get paddle shifters for that extra level of control. One-pedal driving uses regenerative braking to help boost your range on the road and makes for an easier driving experience for your daily commute. And did we mention the standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive?

The Solterra is a Subaru through-and-through, which means it comes with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) standard on every model. This makes the Solterra not only a comfortable crossover model that is a lot of fun to drive around the city but also a great choice for heading off-road or going to your favorite campsite. No matter what you’re interested in doing, the Solterra can get you there. Plus, the AWD system helps keep you in control with excellent traction even in bad weather and slippery road conditions.

Even beyond its impressive Symmetrical AWD in every model, the Solterra has clearly been designed with adventures in mind. It features 8.3 inches of ground clearance and short overhangs that help ensure it doesn’t snag on rocks or fallen branches, making it a great choice for hitting the trail. You also get X-MODE standard on the Solterra, which includes Hill Ascent and Descent Assist to help you maintain traction when navigating hilly terrain. All that, plus up to 30 cu.ft. of total cargo space inside, means the Solterra can easily load up with camping supplies and everything you need for a weekend (or longer) away from the city.

Not only can the Solterra take you on your next big adventure, but you’ll ride in style and comfort thanks to its roomy and luxurious interior. You get up to 126 cu.ft. of total passenger volume inside, with two rows of seats for up to five passengers. It’s been designed to provide a very open feel thanks to the shapes found throughout the interior, the overall construction and angle of windows, the windshield, and other inside features. There’s available StarTex-trimmed upholstery, along with high-quality soft-touch materials that ensure the Solterra is exquisitely comfortable and looks amazing whether you’re driving or simply along for the ride. Once you add in available features like power seating, heated front and rear seats that are perfect for NJ winters, and a glass roof, you end up with something truly special.

Advanced Technology

A comfortable interior is one thing, but Subaru has gone further by providing you with advanced technology that elevates your driving experience. Every model comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, so you can easily connect to your preferred devices and apps while on the road. An available 12.3-inch infotainment display is not only stunning, but makes it easy for you to view navigation information, utilize the various apps available, and take advantage of everything the Solterra has to offer.

Hands-free controls are available through a wide range of voice commands, so you can stay focused on the road while still using the impressive technology Subaru has provided. Other available features include a wireless charging pad, an auto-dimming rearview display, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system for amazing audio on (or off) the road. The impressive safety technology of the Solterra starts with Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology package, which comes standard on every model. Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control can help you with steering, braking, and throttle controls to make your daily commute or long road trips less stressful and demanding; plus, you get warnings to alert you when you are swaying outside of your lane.

To take safety to the next level, the available All-Around Awareness Technologies provide a 360-degree surround-view camera system while parking or in reverse to see around you with incredible accuracy. This also includes Blind-Spot Detection to warn you of cars you might not be able to see, as well as a Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Reverse Automatic Braking to warn you of objects passing behind you and to stop automatically for you in order to avoid a collision.
